Getting around
Central Yerevan is flat and very walkable, with a tiny one-line metro and cheap minibuses (marshrutkas). The GG and Yandex ride apps are inexpensive and the easiest way around. For monasteries and Lake Sevan, hire a driver for the day or join a small-group tour; distances are short and roads are good.
Safety
Yerevan is very safe with low crime and a relaxed late-night street life. Armenians are exceptionally hospitable to visitors. Standard precautions apply; note that the borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey are closed, which only affects overland routing, not city safety.
