Getting around
Antalya's old town and harbour are walkable, and a modern tram links Kaleici with the museum, Konyaalti beach and the centre cheaply. Taxis and ride-hailing are widely available but agree the fare or insist on the meter. For the ancient sites like Aspendos, Perge and the waterfalls, join a tour, hire a driver or rent a car, which gives the most freedom along the coast. Frequent buses and dolmuş minibuses connect nearby resort towns, while the airport is a short taxi or bus ride from the centre.
Safety
Antalya is a major, well-developed tourist city and generally very safe, including for solo travellers and women, who typically report a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Petty theft like pickpocketing can occur in crowded markets and beaches, so keep valuables secure. The main practical risks are summer heat and strong sun, so hydrate and pace sightseeing, plus standard water-safety care when swimming or on boat trips. Use licensed taxis and agree fares. Dress is relaxed in resort areas but modest in mosques. Check current travel advice before visiting, though tourism here is firmly established.
