Getting around

Brașov's old town is small and entirely walkable, and the train station is a short bus (line 4) or cheap taxi/Uber ride from Piața Sfatului. Uber and Bolt are widespread and very cheap for longer hops. For Bran, Râșnov and Peleș you can use regular local buses and trains, but a day tour or a rideshare-plus-driver makes it much easier if time is tight.

Safety

Brașov is one of the safest cities in Romania and easy for solo travellers day and night. Watch for opportunistic pickpockets in Piața Sfatului during peak season and use only official taxis or apps like Bolt/Uber to avoid overcharging. In the mountains, weather can turn quickly, check forecasts and don't hike beyond marked trails without preparation.
