Hidden gems
- Ktima's restored municipal market and the viewpoint over the coast.

Getting around
Paphos has its own international airport 15 minutes from the harbour, with budget flights across Europe. Buses link the harbour, old town, Coral Bay and Polis cheaply, but frequencies drop off the main strip, so most visitors hire a car for the Akamas, Troodos and mountain villages. Driving is on the left. Kato Paphos itself is flat and walkable along the seafront promenade.
Safety
Paphos is very safe with low crime; the real hazards are environmental. Summer heat pushes past 35°C and the sun is fierce even in spring, so hydrate and use shade. Sea urchins and slippery rocks line many beaches, so bring water shoes. Do not cross into the northern part of the island except via official crossing points, and note that rental cars usually cannot cross at all.
