Yerevan is older than Rome and wears it lightly, a warm, walkable city built from rosy volcanic tufa, with the snow-cone of Mount Ararat floating on the horizon. Armenia's tourism is surging as travellers discover ancient monasteries, brandy older than the country's modern borders, and one of the friendliest dining scenes in the region. Como se deslocar
Central Yerevan is flat and very walkable, with a tiny one-line metro and cheap minibuses (marshrutkas). The GG and Yandex ride apps are inexpensive and the easiest way around. For monasteries and Lake Sevan, hire a driver for the day or join a small-group tour; distances are short and roads are good.
Segurança
Yerevan is very safe with low crime and a relaxed late-night street life. Armenians are exceptionally hospitable to visitors. Standard precautions apply; note that the borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey are closed, which only affects overland routing, not city safety.
