The coastal train to Galle is a scenic must-do. Buses are cheap but crowded and confusing for visitors. Walking is limited to the Fort and Galle Face areas.

Safety

Colombo is generally safe but busy. Watch belongings in crowded markets and on buses. Tuk-tuk scams are common; use PickMe or agree a fare upfront. Tap water is not safe; drink bottled or boiled. The sun is intense; use sunscreen and stay hydrated. Avoid political demonstrations.
