Hidden gems
- Assistens Cemetery in Nørrebro - locals picnic among Hans Christian Andersen's grave.
- Cisternerne - underground reservoir turned art space.
- Sankt Peders Bageri for the city's best cinnamon snail (Wednesday only).
- La Banchina sauna + cold plunge in the harbour.
Getting around
Bike. Always bike. Rent at Donkey Republic for $15/day. The metro runs 24/7 and is spotless. Walking the inner city is fine. Skip taxis - they're expensive and slower than bikes.
Safety
One of the safest cities in the world. Solo travellers, including women, are extremely comfortable at any hour. The biggest hazard is forgetting to look for bikes when crossing a bike lane.
