The BIXI bike-share is excellent in summer. Uber operates citywide. The 747 bus links Trudeau Airport to downtown around the clock.
Safety
Montreal is one of the safest large cities in North America, with low crime and a relaxed feel. Standard city precautions are enough. Winters are very cold and snowy, so dress warmly and use the underground city; summers are warm and festival-filled. A little French is appreciated, though most people in tourist areas speak English.
