Getting around

Providenciales International Airport is a short drive from Grace Bay. There's no real public transport, so most visitors rely on taxis (unmetered, agree fares first) or rent a car or jeep, which is the most practical option for exploring beyond the resort strip. Driving is on the left. The island is compact, so distances are short. For trips to other cays, you'll take boats or domestic flights.

Safety

Providenciales is generally very safe for visitors, with the tourism areas well-managed, though petty theft can occur, so secure valuables and don't leave items unattended on the beach. The bigger risks are ocean-related: respect currents, snorkel within marked areas, and watch for boat traffic. The sun is intense, so hydrate and use reef-safe sunscreen. Tap water quality varies; bottled or filtered water is recommended.
