Getting around

Most visitors stay in all-inclusive resorts and rarely need transport, but taxis and resort shuttles cover Naama Bay, Hadaba and the Old Market cheaply (agree fares first, as meters are rare). Dive trips and excursions include hotel pickups. There's no useful public transport for tourists, so use hotel-arranged transfers or reputable taxi/app services. For Ras Mohammed, Tiran, Dahab and Mount Sinai, book organised day trips with established operators.

Safety

Sharm El Sheikh's resort areas are heavily secured and generally safe, with low crime and a tourism-focused setup; solo travellers, including women, are usually comfortable within resorts and on organised trips. Check your government's travel advice, as some advisories cover the wider Sinai (away from the resort zone) due to security concerns; stick to established tourist areas and reputable operators for excursions. The main everyday risks are sun, dehydration and sea conditions, so use reef-safe sunscreen, hydrate, and dive within your limits.
