Hidden gems

Getting around
The old town is tiny and entirely walkable. Trams and buses cover the outskirts and Devín cheaply. From Vienna, a train or even a Danube boat reaches Bratislava in about an hour, making a day trip or two-city pairing very easy.
Safety
Bratislava is safe and easygoing. The usual care applies with pickpockets in the busiest old-town spots and a lively (sometimes rowdy) stag-party scene at weekends. Cobbles can be slippery when wet, and watch for trams when crossing near the centre.
