Getting around

Oslo's metro, trams, buses and ferries run on one integrated ticket and reach the forest, fjord islands and Bygdøy easily. The centre is walkable. Consider the Oslo Pass for transport plus museum entry; it can pay off quickly given the high individual prices.

Safety

Oslo is very safe with low crime. The main 'risk' is the cost, so budget carefully, and keep usual awareness for pickpockets around the central station and Grønland at night. Dress for changeable weather year-round and for genuine cold in winter.
