Getting around

Wroclaw's centre is compact and walkable, with the square, islands and university all close together. A dense, cheap tram and bus network (MPK) covers the wider city, and tickets or a day pass are great value. The airport connects to the centre by bus in around 30 minutes, and ride-hailing apps are inexpensive and widely used.

Safety

Wroclaw is very safe and excellent for solo travellers including women, day and night. Violent crime is rare and the centre feels lively and welcoming. The main caution is minor pickpocketing in the crowded market square and occasional rowdy stag groups in summer, so use normal city sense and you'll be fine.
