Getting around
Flat and walkable, with the beach promenade linking most of the centre. The Tel-O-Fun bike share and e-scooters are everywhere. Use Gett or local taxis at night; note buses and trains largely stop for Shabbat (Friday afternoon to Saturday evening), when sheruts (shared taxis) keep running.
Safety
Tel Aviv is a modern, liberal city that's generally safe for tourists, including solo and LGBTQ+ travellers. Petty theft on the beach is the everyday risk, watch your bags. Check current government travel advisories before booking, as the regional situation can change, and note Shabbat closures when planning.
